SEA TURTLE AND HER WELL PROTECTED EGGS

A very interesting and exciting experience is to observe the giant sea turtles coming out of the bay to lay her eggs on the beach.  This normally occurs from May through November but occasionally at other times.  These pictures were taken on November 22, 2002.  This was a younger turtle and laid about 55 eggs that were collected by the officials and taken to a special area where they are protected and will hatch in about 48 days.

Many fishing boats leave the harbor to begin their morning forays to their fishing holes.  The tide is coming in with many lovely sea shells and early risers are already out walking the beach for exercise.    The Pelicans search for their breakfast and are such fun to watch as they dive into the Bay catching fish.  You always know if the fishermen are catching fish for the Pelicans sit on both ends of their boats waiting for a handout.  We call them our “Mexican Air Force” as they fly in formation over our heads.  Many sail boats abound in the bay and they are such a colorful sight to behold.
For those of you whom are sun worshipers the temperature and sun increase by afternoon and the deck offers an ideal place to sun bathe when you just cannot muster enough energy to get to the beach or pool.
By “Happy Hour” there is shade and a comfortable sea breeze for you to watch the outstanding sunsets.  Sparkling stars shine brightly down from the sky and the peace and quiet of our Mexican nights simply relaxes any tired body.
